Here are a few of the little metal bits that you can incorporate into your "Steampunk" jewellery class that I will be teaching at Morrisburg. I love the little locking washers (they are the spikey looking circles) that can be picked up for mere pennies at the hardware store. Old ball chain(from the bathtub plug) washers, and old metal buttons are great too. Don't forget if you feel that you absolutely need to buy stuff intead of just scavenging in the basement for it that www.shadesofclay.com sells little bags of watchparts that are just wonderful to work with.
Here are a few samples of my "Steampunk Jewellery" that I will be teaching at Morrisburg. I will also be showing how to make a bead (great for earrings) using metal grommets/eyelets. These can be found in sewing stores or in scrapbooking sections.
Above is a dish filled with old metal buttons etc. scavenged from my mom's basement on a recent visit home.
